The Gulf Oil Spill

The oil spill that happened in the Gulf was a very bad thing. I think that the people who made the machine and came up with that idea should be the ones to take blame for what happened. It isn't entirely their fault but it was mainly there fault and there were things they could have done to prevent this. They should have taken more time to plan this so that they could thing about the consequences that could happen. If they had done this then the oil spill would most likely not have happened. BP oil are the people who constructed the drilling to happen so it is mainly their fault because they could have done more research to make sure that this procedure was safe. Although they are not the only people who are at fault for this. We as people have to take some of the blame because we demand oil. People use it in everyday life and we needed to find ways to get the oil. I don't think that anyone should be punished but we should learn from this and be careful and more cautious for the next time we need to drill oil.

Dante's Peak

Accurate:
-Affects of a volcano
-Evidence that a volcano is going to happen
-When the volcano erupted, the pyroclastic flow is really fast and is very hard to escape
-When there is a lot of sulfur dioxside in the air the volcano has magma in the holding chamber

Inaccurate:
-It would be unlikely that people would be able to run away from a volcano
-You couldn't drive through hot lava
-Dante's Peak is not real
-Its not possible to drive out of a pyroclastic flow
-Because the lava is so hot they could not just like walk over it.

Coal

Coal is mostly made of carbon and hydrogen. It is formed when peat is altered physically and chemically which is called coalification. This is when peat changed as a result of decaying bacteria, compaction, heat and time.

Fossil homework 9/21

The second picture is a mammoth. It was preserved by being frozen or being barred in the mud or sand.  All of the remains were copied and molded like casts giving the rock its texture and shape. They replaced the remains withs molds.

The first picture is the fossil from its original remains from when it was alive. We got the fossil from it being preserved and frozen in the ground.

Relative dating homework 9/17

3, 2, 5, 4, 6, 1

I think its in this order because number 3 and number 2 intruded the other layers. Number 3 is the oldest because it goes through all of the layers and number 2 just goes through a few layers. The next youngest is number 5 because it is the next one at the bottom. The next layer is number 4, 6, and then 1.
